Countries that are considering building Concentrating Solar Power plants would do well to learn about Chile’s experience with CSP.

Chile’s Atacama Desert has the world’s highest levels of direct normal irradiation and high energy demand from a burgeoning mining sector. It also lacks local sources of fossil fuels, relying on imported energy for most of its energy needs.
