SAVE THE DATE: The CMI participates in the 5th edition of the Mediterranean Economic Week

The Mediterranean Economic Week, for its 5th edition, will be back in Marseille from October 10 to 15, 2011 and will take place at the Auditorium MPM and the Palais de la Bourse. The Mediterranean Economic Week is one of the major gatherings of Mediterranean economic actors in Marseille.

During the Rendez-Vous Economiques de la Mediterranee scheduled on Octobre 15, the CMI will present the first results of the MED 2012 Report. The MED 2012 Report is an economic study that shows the clear economic and social benefits of investing in the environment. The report will focus on the social and economic costs of environmental degradation and the financial value of natural assets including water, coastal areas and fisheries. This event will bring together again the target audience of the report and the various contributors beyond the realm of the environment sector: governmental policymakers and representatives from the Mediterranean Basin, international experts and researchers, and key actors of the civil society and the private sector.

2012 Med Report is being undertaken with the support of Global Environmental Fund (GEF), and in collaboration with Agence Française de Développement, European Investment Bank (EIB) and Plan Bleu (UNEP/MAP) and technical coordination facilitated by the educational and research network of Forum Euroméditerranéen des Instituts de Sciences Économiques (FEMISE).

Delivery of the final report is on track for the Sixth World Water Forum in March 2012 in Marseilles.
